On 24 September 2026 TikTok introduced One Pay: creators are to be paid through TikTok One in under 30 days. There is no official page yet.

TikTok introduced “TikTok One Pay” at its Creators Summit in Los Angeles on 24 September 2026. Through it, creators are to receive the money from brand deals directly via TikTok instead of from the advertiser. According to a statement from TikTok quoted by Mashable on 29 September, payment arrives in under 30 days after the video is posted. TikTok says it does not keep a fee or commission.

I have not found an official announcement or help page from TikTok on One Pay as of 4 October 2026. The information comes from three media reports that agree on the key points. Tubefilter relies on Mashable, so only two of them report independently. For brands that buy UGC, this is therefore an announcement, not yet a process to build a campaign on.

Payment through TikTok is not entirely new, though. TikTok’s help page on payment models (last updated April 2026) already describes TikTok One projects in which TikTok pays creators a flat fee. The Creator Program Terms in the version for the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom prohibit creators from invoicing the brand directly for such a project. The reports do not say exactly what One Pay changes about this. As far as I can tell, what is new is mainly the promise to pay in under 30 days after posting.

What is being reported about One Pay

What the reports do not say

None of the three reports gives a start date or the countries where One Pay applies. It is also unclear which booking types in TikTok One it covers. Tubefilter speaks generally of “all kinds of brand deals” without going into detail. Net Influencer lists the ways brands book creators there, but does not explicitly link them to One Pay. Whether One Pay applies to all of them therefore remains open.

One point is missing from all three reports: what happens to the payment if a brand does not agree with a published video. The reports name posting as the start of the 30 days and do not mention approval by the brand. Under TikTok’s Creator Program Terms, the right to a flat fee has so far generally arisen only once the content is approved in TikTok One. How this fits with the new deadline is open.

Does this apply in Germany too?

That is open. A TikTok help page on the Physical Product feature, which lets brands send products to creators in TikTok One, shows that TikTok One is available in Germany at least with some features. In Europe, it lists Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Austria and Switzerland are not listed. The list says nothing about One Pay.

For a second programme that was discussed at the same summit, the reports do name clear limits: TikTok One Plus, an invite-only programme with its own label for creators, is open only to creators in the US and Mexico, according to Mashable and Net Influencer.

What brands should clarify now

Anyone buying UGC can take three questions from One Pay for their own processes:

A paid brand deal is as a rule advertising and should be clearly labelled as such. As I understand it, a new payment route does not change that. This is practical experience, not legal advice.

With me, approval and corrections happen before any publication anyway: I deliver the finished video as a file or via a download link, one feedback round is standard, and with payment the agreed usage rights transfer to the brand. How this works in detail is covered in Booking a UGC Creator: How the Collaboration Works. If a video is to run as an ad through the creator’s TikTok account instead, the guide Spark Ads With UGC explains how.

As of 4 October 2026. The information on One Pay comes from Mashable (29 September 2026, with a statement from TikTok), Net Influencer (25 September 2026) and Tubefilter (29 September 2026), the information on Germany from TikTok’s help page on Physical Product (last updated January 2026), the information on existing payments in TikTok One from TikTok’s help page on payment models and the Creator Program Terms (both last updated April 2026). I accessed all TikTok pages on 4 October 2026. Still open: from when and in which countries One Pay applies, which booking types it covers and what happens to the payment in a dispute over a video. As soon as TikTok publishes details itself, I will update the article.
